Beach World Championship Field, Pools Set

The 2022 Beach Volleyball World Championships field has been finalized, and we are thrilled to announce that six U.S. Beach National Team pairs will be competing for a world title in Rome from June 10-19, 2022.

Representing the United States

  • Betsi Flint/Kelly Cheng
  • Kelley Kolinske/Sara Hughes
  • Emily Day/Emily Stockman
  • Sarah Sponcil/Terese Cannon
  • Chaim Schalk/Theo Brunner
  • Taylor Sander/Taylor Crabb

Flint and Sander will be making their Beach Worlds debuts. However, everyone else on the team has previously participated in the Championship. This will be Schalk’s first time representing the Stars and Stripes, as he previously competed for his native Canada in 2013 and 2015.

Day was originally partnered with April Ross, but due to Ross’s injury, she will now be partnering with Stockman. The duo recently played together at the AVP event in Austin, Texas, where they finished in third place. This will be their first tournament as partners.

In the previous World Championships in 2019, Ross and Alix Klineman won silver. Hughes finished fifth with her then-partner Summer Ross, and Cheng/Sponcil combined for a ninth-place finish. Among the American men, Tri Bourne/Trevor Crabb finished fourth, while Taylor Crabb and the now-retired Jake Gibb took ninth place.
