Americans Win Gold in China, Poland Pro Leagues

The U.S. Women’s National Team members have had an incredible week, with gold medals and multiple playoff victories in their 2018-19 pro seasons overseas. Let’s take a closer look at some of the highlights:

Lauren Gibbemeyer’s Interview with FIVB

Lauren Gibbemeyer, playing for Eczacibasi in the Turkish League and the European Champions League, recently did an interview with the FIVB. She talks about coping with the busy FIVB Volleyball Nations League schedule, her role in the Turkish League, her interests outside of volleyball, and her future goals. Read the full interview here.

U.S. Players in European Champions League

Several U.S. Women’s National Team members are competing in the European Champions League for their respective clubs. Jordan Larson and Lauren Gibbemeyer are playing for Eczacibasi, Michelle Bartsch-Hackley and Lauren Carlini are with Igor Gorgonzola Novara, and Kelsey Robinson is representing VakifBank. These players have helped their teams advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Tori Dixon and Madi Kingdon Rishel in China

Tori Dixon and Madi Kingdon Rishel are playing for Beijing BAIC Motors Volleyball Club in the Chinese League. They recently won the Chinese Volleyball League title, defeating top-seeded Tianjin in the championship round. Tori Dixon was named the Most Valuable Player of the final match.

Chiaka Ogbogu in Poland

Chiaka Ogbogu is having a fantastic season with Chemik Police in the Polish League and the European Champions League. She was named the Best Blocker of the Polish Cup after helping her team win the championship. In the Polish Orlen Liga, Chemik Police is comfortably in first place as they head into the playoffs.

U.S. Players in Italian League

Kim Hill and Karsta Lowe are playing for Imoco Volley Conegliano in the Italian Serie A1 and the European Champions League. They recently won a league match against Il Bisonte Firenze, with Kim Hill leading the team in scoring. In the European Champions League, Conegliano will face Turkey’s Eczacibasi in the quarterfinals.

Other U.S. Players in Action

Many other U.S. Women’s National Team members are also making an impact in their respective leagues. Kelly Murphy is playing for Shanghai Volleyball Club in China, Rachael Adams and Micha Hancock are with Saugella Team Monza in Italy, and Annie Drews and Simone Lee are competing for Beylikduzu in the Turkish League.
