Friendly Match Against Canada

On June 13, the U.S. Women’s National Team will host the Canadian Women’s National Team in a friendly match at JSerra High School in San Juan Capistrano, California. This match is highly anticipated as it will be the first international contest for Team USA since winning bronze at the 2016 Olympic Games. If you’re a volleyball enthusiast, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

Red-Blue Scrimmage Schedule

As part of their summer training block, the U.S. Women’s National Team has lined up several Red-Blue intrasquad matches for fans to enjoy. These matches will take place in Southern California and provide a great opportunity for fans to witness the team’s preparations firsthand. Training sessions are also open to the public at the American Sports Centers in Anaheim. Make sure to mark your calendars for these exciting events:

  • May 12: at Murrieta Mesa High School (Murrieta, California) – 7 p.m. PT
  • May 19: location TBA in Southern California – 7 p.m. PT
  • May 26: at Santiago Canyon College (Orange, California) – 6 p.m. PT (doubleheader with U.S. Men’s National Team)
  • June 2: at Kennedy High School (La Palma, California) – 7 p.m. PT

Exciting Achievements

David Hunt, a consultant coach with the U.S. Women’s National Team, has been named a recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 Award. This recognition acknowledges his dedication and contributions to the team. Hunt, who is also the associate head men’s volleyball coach at Pepperdine University, has received this prestigious honor three times. We congratulate him on this remarkable achievement!

Additionally, USA Volleyball has announced the roster for the U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Team Europe Tour (CNT-Europe). This tour will feature current collegiate players who will train and compete in Europe from July 5-16. We look forward to seeing these talented athletes represent the United States on the international stage.

International Players in Action

Several members of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Women’s Volleyball Team are currently playing for top European clubs. Jordan Larson and Rachael Adams are representing Eczacibasi in the Turkish League and the European Champions League. Kim Hill is playing for VakifBank, also in the Turkish League and the European Champions League. Meanwhile, Foluke Akinradewo is competing for Volero Zurich in the Swiss League and the European Champions League. Kelsey Robinson and Nicole Fawcett are showcasing their skills in the Italian Serie A1. Carli Lloyd and Lauren Gibbemeyer have returned to Italy to play for Pomi Casalmaggiore. Michelle Bartsch is competing for Sudtirol Bolzano in the Italian Serie A1. Lastly, Micha Hancock is setting for Poland’s Impel Wroclaw in the Orlen Liga.
