The U.S. Men’s Sitting Team is gearing up for the 2018 Sitting Volleyball World Championships, taking place in the Netherlands from July 15th to 22nd. Ranked eighth in the world, the team has set high expectations for this tournament. In the past, they finished 10th at the World Championships in 2010 and 2014, and eighth at the 2016 Paralympic Games. However, they have improved their performance, reaching the podium in the last two Parapan American Championships, where they secured second place.

Head Coach Greg Walker expressed the team’s aspirations by stating, “We would like to finish in the top five in the world.” The team has experienced significant growth in competition over the years, further enhancing their chances of achieving this goal.

To prepare for the World Championships, the team competed against Italy’s men’s sitting team in the scenic town of Rotonda. They performed exceptionally well, winning all their matches and even receiving medals and a trophy. Italy will not be participating in the World Championships, but the U.S. Men will face China, Rwanda, and the Netherlands in their pool. With strong performances, they have the potential to emerge as pool winners.
