Girls U19 Team Triumphs Over Poland at 2023 World Championship

The U.S. Girls U19 National Team showcased their resilience as they staged a remarkable comeback against Poland, winning the match 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-15) at the FIVB Girls U19 World Championship in Osijek, Croatia.

U.S. Takes the Lead in Pool D

After losing the first set, the U.S. team bounced back and displayed their exceptional skills throughout the rest of the match. With this victory, the U.S. (4-0) now holds the top spot in Pool D. Their next match is against Serbia (1-3) on Sunday, Aug. 6, at 9 a.m. PT.


Outstanding Performances by Key Players

Abigail Mullen led the scoring with an impressive 18 points, consisting of 11 kills, one ace, and six blocks. Teraya Sigler contributed 16 points with 16 kills, showcasing her prowess as an outside hitter. Ayden Ames, the team’s middle blocker, added 12 points with 11 kills and an ace.

The U.S. team displayed dominance in both blocking and kills, outperforming Poland with 11 blocks and 56 kills compared to Poland’s 6 blocks and 40 kills.
