Ball Earns Second MVP of Opens, 11 More Titles Confirmed on Final Day

The 88th USA Volleyball Open National Championships concluded with a thrilling final day at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The event, which is one of the largest national championships in the country, featured 464 teams and nearly 5,000 athletes competing for glory.

Men’s BB Division Champions Crowned

In the Men’s BB Division, Dimes from Gateway emerged as the champions, defeating #SWAG from New England in the championship match. Dimes finished the tournament with a perfect 8-0 record and was led by the exceptional performance of Justin Young, who was named the most valuable player of the division.

Dominant Display in Men’s B Division

Marysville Goodyear from Lakeshore dominated the Men’s B Division, winning all eight matches without dropping a set. They clinched the gold medal by defeating Sorin’ from Hoosier in the final. Kanitha Boranprasit of Marysville Goodyear was named the most valuable player of the division.

Jim Beam 40s Rally to Claim Men’s 40s Division Title

It was a remarkable comeback story in the Men’s 40s Division as Jim Beam 40s from Southern California overcame an early loss to win the gold. After losing their opening match, they bounced back and defeated Milwaukee’s Best/Thunderball from Badger in a gripping final. Lloy Ball, a four-time U.S. Olympic Volleyball Team selection, was awarded the most valuable player of the division for his outstanding contributions.

Balboa Bay 50s Dominant in Men’s 50s Division

Balboa Bay 50s from Southern California put on a dominant display in the Men’s 50s Division, winning all their matches and claiming the gold medal. They defeated Blaine Labs from Heart of America in the title match. Steve Friedman of Balboa Bay 50s was recognized as the most valuable player of the division.

Federal Resources Seize Men’s 60s Division Crown

Federal Resources from Heart of America had an exhilarating run in the Men’s 60s Division, ultimately clinching the gold medal. After losing to Tver Volley Club from Russia in the final, they regrouped and won the Golden Set to secure victory. Rod Wilde of Federal Resources, a former U.S. Men’s National Team player, received the most valuable player award for his instrumental role in their success.

Quiksilver Legends 70 Triumph in Men’s 70s Division

Quiksilver Legends 70 from Southern California were unstoppable in the Men’s 70s Division, claiming the gold medal with an impressive display of skill and teamwork. They defeated V&C/Brasil M70+ from Brazil in the final. The most valuable player accolade went to Paul Mitchell of Quiksilver Legends 70 for his exceptional contributions.

MAC Magic 76 Wins Thrilling Men’s 76s Division

In a captivating final, MAC Magic 76 from Chesapeake emerged victorious in the Men’s 76s Division. After a hard-fought match against Outback Steakhouse 76 from Puget Sound, they won the Golden Set to secure the title. Mickey Maguire of MAC Magic 76 was recognized as the most valuable player in the division.

Exciting Highlights in Women’s Divisions

The Women’s BB Division saw a thrilling final between Highlighters 34-1 from Badger and Thunder Chicks! from New England. Highlighters 34-1 emerged as the champions, with Katelyn Vara being named the most valuable player of the division.

In the Women’s B Division, Ice Cold Killas from Iowa showcased their resilience, coming back from the loser’s bracket to win the gold medal. Molly Steffens of Ice Cold Killas was awarded the most valuable player honor for her outstanding performances.
