2016 Girls Youth National Team Roster Announced

USA Volleyball is thrilled to reveal the highly talented 12-player roster for the 2016 U.S. Girls Youth National Team. These exceptional athletes will be representing their country at the upcoming competitions, showcasing their skills and determination on the international stage.

A Team with a Bright Future

Led by Head Coach Erin Virtue, this team has the incredible opportunity to grow and develop together through their first international competition. The experience of traveling and representing the United States is something that these young athletes will cherish forever. The Roster

The team consists of a group of outstanding players who have already proven themselves as formidable competitors. The outside hitters named to the team are Logan Eggleston from Franklin, Tennessee, Skylar Fields from Missouri City, Texas, Mia Grunze from Waterford, Wisconsin, Allison Martinez from Montebello, California, Brooklyn Schirmer from Long Beach, California, and Haley Warner from Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The team’s middle blockers include Sophia Dorsch-Summer from Beaverton, Oregon, Serena Gray from San Gabriel, California, and Kendall Kipp from Newport Beach, California.

Erin O’Leary from Novi, Michigan, and Ella Powell from Fayetteville, Arkansas, have been designated as the team’s setters and captains of the offense. Brooke Nuneviller from Chandler, Arizona, will be anchoring the defense as the libero.

Regional Representation

This diverse and talented team brings together athletes from various regions across the country. The Southern California region has the largest representation, with four players. Fayetteville, Arkansas, is also well represented with two athletes on the roster. Each of the Columbia Empire, Southern, Lone Star, Badger, Arizona, and Lakeshore regions has one player representing them.

Experienced Coaching Staff

Assisting Coach Virtue, who is also the associate head coach at Northwestern University, is three-time Olympian Stacy Sykora as an assistant coach. Joining them are offensive coordinator and Minnesota Select Volleyball Club coach Kayla Cole, middle blocker coach and technical coordinator Nicki Holmes, who currently serves as the assistant women’s volleyball coach at North Carolina State University, and program coordinator Denise Sheldon. With their combined expertise and guidance, this coaching staff will provide invaluable support to the players.
